Canning Workshop, Saturday October 6, 2012



ACES Rock Bottom Ranch Managers Caitlin Bourassa and Peter Arthur are hosting a Canning Workshop from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012. As a student, all you need to bring will be an apron and a pair of rubber gloves, if you want to handle the hot stuff.  We'll provide all the ingredients, tools and guidance required to complete these four projects and send you home with a jar of each, including labels.

Been Awhile!







Well I've ignored my canning blog for awhile now, but at least the food never stalled!  Here's the latest since last post:
2011:
Apple Syrup - fresh apple cider, reduced to the consistency of Maple Syrup;
Cottage Applesauce - fresh local apples;
Pickled Red Beets - Grandpa's favorite;
Cucumber & Bean Pickles - Haley's favorite!
2012:
Lime Pickle - a favorite condiment from India, using a silly photo I found online;
Apricot Jam - Seymour visited this Summer, and helped me put away 30 pints of apricot jam from my backyard tree, "Maude".
